El Comite de abogados cubanos por la libertad del colega Rolando Jimenez Pozada, sancionado por las autoridades cubanas a 12 anos de privacion de libertad, en un proceso penal, sin las mas elementales garantias procesales,en su ausencia y de manera secreta.Quiere hacer llegar al abogado U Aye Myint y familiares , nuestras mas sinceras felicitaciones por el premio Ludovic Trarieux 2008; el mas prestigioso y antiguo premio, que otorgan los colegas europeos a todos aquellos abogados, que son ejemplos en su trayectoria a favor de los Derechos humanos.

Agradecer a los colegas europeos de su intensa preocupacion por todos aquellos profesionales del derecho que son perseguidos y acosados.

The Committee of Cuban Attorneys for the release of their imprisoned colleague Rolando Jimenez Pozada, undergoing an arbitrary 12 year penal incarceration without due legal recourse, take this opportunity to greet in the most courteous and fraternal of ways, their Birmanian colleague, Mr U Aye Myint and his Family members.

The Committee of Cuban Attorneys extends to Mr. U Aye Myint and his family, our most sincere congratulations for his designation of the Ludovic Trarieux Award, as awardee of the most prestigious and ancient of all prizes granted by European lawyers in recognition of an attorney"s defense, promotion and respect of the universally guaranteed human rights of any people.

The Committee of Cuban Attorneys take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to our European Colleagues for their designation of Mr. U Aye Myint as their Ludovic Trarieux Awardee for 2008, and for that they do in favour of those lawyers who defend human rights around the world.

It is indeed a pleasure to sign this decree, as the then democratic Republic of Cuba was not only an original signatory of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948,but also, the nation that proposed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights during the 1946 General Assembly of the United Nations. As the world commemorates this 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration Human Rights adopted in Paris in december of 1948, the undersigned Cuban attorneys salute and admire, their counterparts in Europe and everywhere, where the right of democratic rule and law is promoted,defended and upheld.
